Resilient Melbourne

Sustainability Victoria

Part of the 100 Resilient Cities initiative, pioneered by The Rockefeller Foundation, this global initiative aims to help cities around the world become more resilient to the physical, social and economic challenges that are a growing part of the 21st century. The Resilient Melbourne project is delivered by the City of Melbourne in collaboration with the 32 metropolitan Melbourne councils, and associated partners. 
Victorian statutory authority set up to facilitate and promote environmental sustainability in the use of resources. SV has obligations under the Environment Protection Act 1970 for statewide waste management strategy and planning, as well as managing the Sustainability Fund. The community can have a say about SV initiatives via Participate Sustainability.

Melbourne Waste and Resource Recovery Group

Victorian statutory body who work with Melbourne's 31 metropolitan councils to, among other things, "help build the capacity and knowledge of councils and their communities of world best practice waste minimisation and the opportunities and options available for improved services and infrastructure.

Environment Protection Authority

Victorian statutory authority esponsible for regulating the environment in Victoria.. The EPA is committed to reducing the amount of waste generated in Victoria and uses the wastes hierarchy in conjunction with the other 10 environment protection principles in the Environment Protection Act to achieve this aim.
